Dolours' High School For the Hearing Impaired is located at Ponmalaipatti near Pudukottai National High ways in trichy. It was established in 1969 by the Congregation of Mother of Sorrows Servants of Mary and was recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It was upgraded into a High School in 1994.

In 2010 the school received a State Award for excellence in Education. Sister Josephine our former Principal, received the award on behalf of the institution from our former Deputy Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Mr.M.K. Stalin on the International day of the Differently Abled 3rd December 2010.

பிற பள்ளிகள் பின்பற்றும் அரசு அங்கிகாித்த பாடத்திட்டங்களே பின்பற்றப்படுகின்றன இவற்றுடன் சிறப்பு பாடங்களான பேச்சு, உரையாடல், ஒலிகேட்டல், உதட்டு வாசிப்பு, போன்றவற்றிலும் பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்படுகிறது. முப்பருவ தோ்வு முறை நடைபெறுகிறது. தோ்ச்சி அறிக்கை பெற்றோாின் கவனத்திற்கு கொண்டு வருகிறது. தோ்வுக்கான வினாதாள்கள் அரசிடமிருந்தும் பாளையம் கோட்டை திருஇருதய சகோதரா்கள் கல்வி கழகத்திலிருந்தும் பெறப்படுகிறது.
மாணவர்கள் பார்த்து அறிந்தே அதிகம் கற்க வேண்டியிறுபபதால் நேர்காணல் மற்றும் சிற்றுலாவிற்கு அழை்து் செல்லப்படுகின்றனர் . கற்றலில் சிறந்திட, கற்றலை மனதில் பதித்திட கோளரங்கம், பால் பண்னை, இயற்கை வேளாண்மை, கால்நடை் பண்னை, மீன் வளர்ப்பு, சித்தன்ன வாசல் போன்ற இடங்களுக்கு மாணவர்கள் அழைத்துச் செல்லபட்டனர்.
The school has many extra curricular activities such as Music, Drama, Dance, Yoga, Meditation, Art and Craft. The students are enabled to develop these skills during school day, Sports day, Exhibition Parents Teachers meetings and so on. Excursions & Field trips are arranged for the students to get first hand experience. Our students have participated in several District level and state level competitions in sports and games conducted for the hearing impaired and secured medals and trophies.
